Dorset Libraries | I'm A Little Bit Scared Of...

A few weeks before Christmas, I decided to drop a copy of my children's picture book I'm A Little Bit Scared Of... into my local library in the little town of Blandford. I thought it would a way to share the book with a wider audience of children who may not otherwise have a chance to enjoy it, and also it would be pretty awesome to know that my book would be available to borrow by little ones throughout Dorset.

I was told that before the book could be borrowed, it would have to be added to the library catalogue, so i've been waiting, a little impatiently, until earlier this week when i found out that it had been added. Eeeee!

My book can now be found in, and borrowed from, the children's section at Blandford Library. It can also be requested from other Dorset libraries, so if you live in the area, why not have a peek?

If you're not local, and would like to borrow my book from your local library, you could always suggest it as a book they may like to purchase - if they get enough requests, you never know!

The Green Door Bookshop.

You may have seen my post a few months back where I mentioned the work I had been creating for Caroline. I posted some of my initial designs for the branding of her new website. As I mentioned, the name of her website has changed since those early designs, and is now called The Green Door Bookshop. The website launched recently; it is an online bookshop selling gorgeous children's books, - books that are different, unique and quirky. These include titles from small publishing houses, and some self-published books too - including my illustrated picture book I'm A Little Bit Scared Of...

Below you can see some of the development of the branding/logo of the website, resulting in the final logo at the bottom which is visible on the website, plus bookmarks etc - exciting!

If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend popping over and having a little look around - whether you have little ones to buy Christmas presents for, or just love beautiful illustrations, you are certain to find a book you will adore.

The Dorset Bookshop.

As you may already be aware from my over-excited tweets this evening, my children's picture book I'm A Little Bit Scared Of... is now available to buy in an actual proper brick-and-mortar bookshop! It was such an amazing feeling to walk past The Dorset Bookshop in my hometown of Blandford Forum earlier, and see my book displayed in the window! It's such a cute little old-fashioned bookshop too, packed full of new and secondhand books. The owners of the shop compared my illustrative style to the work of Lauren Child in her Charlie and Lola books, which is such a massive compliment, as she is one of my favourite illustrators. The photos below are a little unclear as they were taken on my phone, but if you look closely, you can definitely spot my book displayed right in the middle of the window! Excitement!
