Torn Magazine | Issue two.

A few of my Christmas-themed illustrations have been included in the latest issue of Torn Magazine, along with a lovely feature about myself and my work. Torn Magazine is a free, downloadable arts and culture magazine, and the current issue - a Christmas special - is packed full of festive loveliness, so make sure you pop over and download your copy now.

A little update...

I just thought I'd take a minute to update you all on some of the ace things that have been happening recently. :]

Firstly, I recently opened an Envelope shop, which means my illos are now available to buy on tote bags, cushion covers and other fabric items. Yay! The tote bags are definitely my favourite, and are currently available in three cute designs; Flamingo Love, Bubble Girl and Super Squirrel. They're definitely worth checking out and, as with my Society6 shop, if there's a particular illustration you'd like to see on a particular item, then please let me know and I'll sort it out for you.

I also wanted to say a super big thank you to everyone who voted on my Super Squirrel tee design on All Tropical a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I came second, which means my tee won't be printed, BUT I have now made Mr Squirrel available to buy on a T-shirt in my Society6 shop! He's looking pretty snazzy, so be sure to check him out.

Finally, I wanted to mention a couple of features that have recently been posted about my work. Firstly, I was featured by the lovely Jade Boylan in one of her Creative Café posts. I love reading Jade's blog, so it was a really nice surprise to be asked to feature in one of her posts, and, of course, the feature itself is really lovely. I was also recently featured on the Tee Gazette in a post which explains my recent experimentation in tee designs, and highlights some of the tee designs I currently have available in my Society6 shop. You can check out the feature here.

News.

I recently completed an illustration for the super Flamingo Magazine (you will see it sometime in the near future), and today they were lovely enough to publish an interview about me and my work on their website. Yay!

So, if you're interested in finding out why I'd like to be invisible, or you'd like to see a very quick illo of my favourite thing in the whole world ever, then check it the feature here.

I'd also like to tell you all about the little shop I have now opened on Society6. There is now a wider range of fine art prints available (more than are currently available to buy in my Etsy shop) and, even better than that, it is now possible to have my illustrations printed on a range of different products including laptop, ipad, iphone and ipod skins, t-shirts and hoodies. How ace is that?! If you're interested, then it's definitely worth having a peek at my shop. Also, if there's a particular illustration you'd like to have printed on a particular product and it's not currently available in my shop, then please contact me and i'll see what I can for you. :]

Burst Magazine | Type Issue.

Burst magazine is a monthly digital magazine which showcases and interviews new talents from all over the world. If you haven't checked it out already, then I definitely recommend that you pop over and have a browse!

The type issue is the most recent issue of the magazine. The theme of the issue is hand-drawn typography and, along with a vibrant front cover designed by Tristan Palmer, it's packed with features and interviews, including the traditional hand-created typography of Kelsey Oseid, and the bright, hand-drawn typography of Katie Allen, and it also includes an interview with me and a selection of my work.

Mini mirrors and Mother's Day memories.

First of all, I just wanted to give you all a little peek at the latest edition to my Etsy shop - super cute pocket mirrors! Yayyy!

Each mirror measures approx 58mm across, which makes it the perfect size to pop into even the tiniest of handbags! There are three different designs to choose from, and each mirror will be delivered to you inside a pretty organza drawstring bag, to protect the mirrored side from scratches. Have a peek at the mirrors here, and while you're there, feel free to have a browse at the picture books, prints and postcards which are also available. :]

Okay, so as everyone in the UK knows, today is Mother's Day. Hopefully you've all had a lovely sunny day and spoilt your mum rotten. I wish I could have spent the day with my mum; I wish I could go back to when I was tiny - a handmade card, hand-picked daffodils and breakfast in bed. Instead, my day has been full of monsters and scissors and glue. I'm not sure how many of you know this, because it's something I find almost impossible to talk about, but my mummy died a few years ago when I was 19. I was planning to draw a picture of her for the lovely Fritha Strickland's I Saw You project, but since I can hardly bare to look at photographs of her, it proved to be an illustration I'm just not yet ready to create. Instead, I decided to share this painting I did of my mama back when I was about 12 - it was an entry in a Mother's Day competition, and it won first prize.

A couple of features.

Over the past week, I have been lucky enough to have my work featured on three lovely websites, so super big smiles and a big thank you to everyone involved. :]

Ballard Of..., a lovely magazine filled to the brim with work by new and emerging artists, wrote a cute little feature about my children's book I'm a little bit scared of.... Check out the full feature on their website here, or buy a copy of the book for yourself in my very new and shiny Etsy shop.

Fuel Your Illustration and Illustration Rally also both featured a spotlight on my work and an interview with me about my ilustrations. Check out the articles, and have a little read about my love of cutting and sticking, and my wallpaper-sample stealing adventures, here and here.

I also wanted to give a little mention to the lovely miss Stephanie Martin, who is a third year illustration student at my old uni - AUCB. She recently included my children's book in a post about her favourite children's books, which made me super happy, and she has also been lovely enough to tell me how much she likes it. Her collage-based illustrations are beautiful, and her blog is definitely worth a peek.

The Young Creatives.

Just a little post to bring all your attention to The Young Creatives - a lovely blog which serves as a platform for young people to showcase their work. I was lucky enough to be featured last month - you can check out the full article here.

They are always looking for more creative people (under the age of 25) to feature on their blog - so if you're interested, then it's definitely worth checking out!

In other news, my work has also recently been featured on this lovely blog - the girl who wrote it also taught me that Tartaruga Feliz means 'happy turtle' in Portuguese, which I think is pretty damn cute - and my rainbow rain print was featured on Oooh Yum. Also, you can check out a couple of my one-minute creatures on CreatureMag.

A little love-inspired illustration to wish you all a lovely valentine's day. This illustration was also featured on Illustration Rally last week - I recommend you check out their website if you haven't already! Cute heart-shaped cookies and pink roses to everyone. x

New Sugar | Issue 8.

My work was recently featured in issue 8 of New Sugar magazine - it's on online magazine, and you can check out issue 8 here. Have a peek at pages 68 to 75 to see my work. :]

I was also a runner up in Issue 17 of Creative Quarterly. My illustration can be seen in the Creative Quarterly online gallery - just click on my name in the list to the left of the page.

AIB exhibition...

My exhibition work was also featured in the Autumn/Winter Graduate edition of the AIB student union magazine, Dingsdabumsda, alongside the work of the super lovely and very talented children's book illustrator, Kyoko Nishimura.
