Anorak Magazine | Colour Me In.

Three of my totem illustrations for The Scribble Project have been printed in the winter edition of Anorak Magazine as part of a colouring-in page. The owl, the froggie and the monster are mine - see if you can spot them. The theme of the issue is drawing, and it's definitely worth a look if you haven't seen it already. :]

New Sugar | Issue 8.

My work was recently featured in issue 8 of New Sugar magazine - it's on online magazine, and you can check out issue 8 here. Have a peek at pages 68 to 75 to see my work. :]

I was also a runner up in Issue 17 of Creative Quarterly. My illustration can be seen in the Creative Quarterly online gallery - just click on my name in the list to the left of the page.

Shelter House of Cards Exhibition.

Yesterday I visited the Shelter House of Cards exhibition at the Haunch of Venison Gallery in London. My flamingo two of hearts playing card is being exhibited there as part of a collaborative quilt of cards which was put together by Amelia's Magazine. The exhibition features artwork by 53 artists and designers, each one relating to a certain playing card - these designs will be auctioned to raise money for Shelter.

There are some awesome designs being exhibited, and it was pretty incredible to see my playing card being displayed alongside the work of such prominent artists and designers as Nick Park, Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood and Rob Ryan. The exhibition is open until Monday 28th September, so if you're in London, it's definitely worth a look. :]

Doodlezine | A recipe for gingerbread.

This illustration is my submission for Doodlezine. The theme for the next issue is typography, and I based my entry on a recipe for gingerbread men. Possibly the most confusing recipe you'll ever come across, but hand-drawn typography and yummy biscuits seemed like a cute combination to me. :]

The real deal.

Just received a copy of the business card I designed, so I thought I'd post a photo. Quite enjoyed collaging that violin. :]

My illustrations have recently appeared in the latest edition of Cut Click magazine. If you haven't downloaded the latest edition already, then it's definitely worth a look - there's loads of illustrations to flick through. My work has also recently been featured on I Like Characters and the Illustration Friday blog.

Harmony is Me.

Just completed these business card designs for the super talented Luisa. It was quite fun to get back into playing with hand-drawn typography again. I've missed it.

In other news, my work has recently been featured on Aqua-Velvet, Illustrophile, Dirty MouseDoodlers Anonymous, Tigerprint and Creative Boom. Yay! Check them out. :]

Illustration Friday: Modify.

Modified cardboard boxes = the perfect disguise.  :]

Amelia's Magazine | Shelter House of Cards.

I recently found out that the playing card design which I submitted to a brief for Amelia's Magazine was chosen to be included in the final poster (yay!) which will be exhibited and auctioned to raise money for Shelter. There are so many beautiful designs in there - see if you can spot my mine!

Birthday monster.

Just whacked this little cutie together as part of a birthday card. He baked the cupcake all by himself. I've developed a slight obsession with collaging monsters at the moment - you might have noticed...

Illustration Friday: Hollow.

Possibly not the most imaginative response to the topic, but I felt like collaging an owl. :]

Two Of Hearts for Amelia's Magazine.

These are two images I recently entered into an open brief for Amelia's Magazine. The brief was to design a playing card depicting the two of hearts; the best designs will be included in a patchwork quilt of cards which will exhibited over the summer to raise money for Shelter, a homelessness charity.

AIB exhibition...

My exhibition work was also featured in the Autumn/Winter Graduate edition of the AIB student union magazine, Dingsdabumsda, alongside the work of the super lovely and very talented children's book illustrator, Kyoko Nishimura.

Postcards...

A range of postcards displaying a selection of the images from 'I'm a little bit scared of...' They were available at the private view of our summer show at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth earlier this week.

ooh, self-promotion.

I finally got some business cards printed! It took me aaages to decide on a design, and in the end I couldn't pick between these two, so I had a mixture of each printed. Come and grab one at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth summer show in June, or the D&AD exhibition in early July. :]

yo-yo-yo...

This is an animation I made last year sometime, first time using Flash and it was loads of fun to make. :] It was displayed as part of an exhibition at the Museum of Design in Plastics last autumn.
We had to pick an item and visually explain as much about it as possible; when it was invented, how it works, what it does etc. Mine's all about the yo-yo, check it outttt:

i'm scared of dogs with big bitey teeth...

Here's a selection of the final illustrations I produced for Final Major. They're all double page spreads taken from the children's book I've been working on. Mixed media, mainly collage; lots of glue, lots of paper, lots of cutting and lots of sticking. :] Click the images if you want to see them bigger; these ones are teeny...
